TARANTOLA Reggae - Dub- Roots

"Tarantola's music transcends the stage to immerse the audience in a world of positive vibes and contagious excitement - an experience that leaves you buzzing with good energy" cit. Laura Fischer

BIOGRAPHY

Tarantola is a London based Reggae-Dub band that comprises 5 energetic musicians who come from Italy, Brasil, England, and Greece taking a various range of influences from the likes off Mellow Mood, Damian Marley, Kumar Fyah, Alborosie etc…

Mauro Lacandia, (singer, songwriter and producer) straight from the boot of Italy (The Jamaica of Italy) seeks to recreate the legend of “Taranta” (the traditional music from Salento): the spider that bites people and brings them to a state of trance that can only be cured with dance, music and love!

From their small “Tarantolab” studio, the band, supervised by the Italian Reggae Ambassador Treble Lu Professore (former Sud Sound System, boomdabash, Mama Marjas) is releasing since 2020 a cycle of Reggae Releases started with Stay Home and continued with You Are Not Alone and Fight For A Change (over 50 000 streams between them)

The symbolism of the band recalls the 3 Jamaican colours which are also very common in the tradition of Salento music and culture: Red, Yellow and Green. Red representing Love, Connection, Passion; Yellow representing the Sun, the warmth and green representing the Hope and the Olive trees, all elements you can find in Tarantola’s song.

Now the band is preparing their new show for 2021, with a lot of new songs, fresh energy and the support of fabulous musicians.

SUGAR DUMPLIN

OUT 21/05/2021

Sugar Dumplin is a radio friendly tune co-written with Nina Deiana that includes catchy vocals on top of infectious and danceable Reggae/Dancehall grooves mixed with that sunny vibe peculiar of South Italy Reggae Music!

Sugar Dumplin is a song celebrating playful and mutual love. It explores sexuality in an healthy way, through the comfort of 2 lovers who enjoy each others company! The song is also a call to women who are invited to express themselves freely without fearing any judgement and to express their sexuality in a natural way.

A song of admiration, attraction for a confident woman but also a song of empowerment for a woman who doesn’t fear the way she is perceived.
