ABOUT EMPHYSEMA

Emphysema is a chronic lung disease caused by damage to the alveoli, the tiny air sacs in the lung where ​the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place. With emphysema, damage to the alveoli results in air becoming trapped, causing them to expand and rupture.

CAUSES

Smoking is the most common cause along with being exposed with fumes or dust causing this lung disease. Another sad cause is air pollution being caused by man made factories and products.

EFFECTS/SYPTOMS

Shortness of breath, a bad cough, wheezing, chest pain and muscular astrophy. These are the most common side effects or Emphysema. Troubles in breathing can sometimes even lead to death.

TREATMENTS

Treatments include stopping smoking, regular exercise routine, medications to clean lungs and there are physical therapy for lungs that can improve lung tolernece. Also immunizations can help control the symptoms.

Prevention

Do not smoke!! eat healthy and exercise, also make sure your lungs are safe from any toxic fumes or dust.
