Start by getting plenty of sleep the night before. On the day of the photo shoot make sure to apply your makeup as you would any other day. It’s usually not a good idea to try experimental makeup the day of your shoot. I want your images to be a true reflection of you. I recommend bringing at least two outfits for variety. Select a wardrobe that can be coordinated together. For example, pants or skirts that work with a variety of tops, jacket and sweaters to put on or drape over the shoulders. Also think about shoes, scarves and jewelry. A fun necklace can really spice up an outfit.

This session was taken at the Zen Park, Lawrence. I love the Spring colors and blooms.

Consider getting a haircut a few days before the session. Make sure you get plenty of sleep the night before. Tired eyes make for not so great photos. The day of the sessions shave and fix your hair. Get ready for the session like you would if you were going out on a date. It’s hard to get amazing photos if you show up with bed head (Yes, it happens). Bring an extra shirt, jacket that you can take off, or shoes. We want a bit of variety to make for an amazing session.

I shot this session in lovely downtown Lawrence. Alleys have great textures and perspective.

Stairs are a favorite of mine. So many possibilities.
