Pendleton Early Learning Center Strong Beginnings. Bright Futures.

THANK-YOU WILDHORSE FOUNDATION

A HUGE thank-you to The Wildhorse Foundation for their very generous grant to our school. We are thrilled to have received approximately $20,000 to purchase iPads and cases for learning. These iPads will be used to support our math instruction, literacy skills and fine motor development. Having iPads in each kindergarten classroom will give every child access to technology that will build the skills they need to be successful in their school career. We truly appreciate this amazing opportunity because of The Wildhorse Foundation.

APPLES AND PUMPKINS

Many of our classes have had fun learning about Apples and Pumpkins during the month of October. They have weighed, cooked/tasted, graphed, measured, made predictions and much more!

LEARNING IS FUN!

CONSCIOUS PARENTING NIGHT

We enjoyed a special dinner and presentation with our families who attended our Conscious Parenting event!
We have partnered with Square 1 Art to create a unique opportunity to celebrate your child's artistic accomplishments while raising much needed funds for the school. Coming home soon will be your child’s custom catalog featuring their artwork. Won’t you help make your child feel like an accomplished artist by purchasing keepsakes for the whole family containing their masterpiece? The school earns profit from every order. And as a thank you for participating, Square 1 Art provides each child with a sheet of stickers imprinted with their artwork — absolutely FREE! Watch for more details about the campaign and order deadlines. All online and paper order forms must be turned in by NOVEMBER 9th as indicated on your child’s custom catalog. (No late orders can be accepted.) Together, we can help support the school, build your child’s self-esteem, and create lasting keepsakes from your child’s artistic achievements. THREE EASY WAYS TO ORDER KEEPSAKES 1. The paper order form attached to their custom catalog. 2. Online at www.square1art.com/shop. 3. Phone Customer Care 888-332-3294. THANK YOU

PARENT CLUB MEETING

We had wonderful attendance at our first Parent Club meeting and they have been busy preparing for our upcoming Family Fun Night/Basket Raffle. We hope you can join us for our next meetings, January 15 and April 2 at 5:30 pm.

FALL FAMILY FUN NIGHT & BASKET RAFFLE

On Tuesday, November 6, 6:00-7:00 pm, we will be hosting a free, Fall Family Fun Night full of activities for all children to enjoy. Along with these activities, we will have a basket raffle to raise money for our Pendleton Early Learning Center. Money raised from these baskets will go toward school and classroom needs, such as art supplies, playground equipment, technology, school assemblies and/or field trips. The raffle baskets are put together by our students. Each classroom has a themed basket, and each student in the classroom is encouraged to donate an item, big or small, for their raffle basket. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5, baskets will be raffled off during Family Fun Night, and you do not need to be present to win.

EVERY DAY MATTERS!

The Pendleton School District continues to focus on attendance during the month of October. Parents of school-aged children are the best resource to ensure good attendance for students, but often don’t realize how quickly absences can add up to academic trouble. Students usually don’t realize the cost of absenteeism. In a national survey, nearly half the older students surveyed believe they could skip a day a week and still not suffer academically. Every absence matters at every grade level. Every day missed is a day of instruction missed, a day of classroom interaction with students and teachers that can’t be recovered.
