Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD)

Bovine Viral Diarrhea is a significant economic disease of cattle which is endemic in the majority of the country countries throughout the world.

There really isn't a cure for any forms of BVD. Most of the time the ones that have it will slowly die from mucosal disease if they are not treated properly. If the animals are affected after birth there is more of a chance that they will survive. Using antibiotics may help prevent further infections.

Some of the symptoms that you should look for if you think that your cattle has BVD are: 1. Calves born with BVD show fever and can also become dehydrated, They have continuous nasal discharge, diarrhea, lose the ability to move about normally, often die from pneumonia from a weakened immune system
