Robert Blake & Elmwood Schools Bridgwater, somerset
This challenging project was part of the Governments Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. The project involved the co-location of a 900 place secondary school and a 60 place SEN school. In addition the project included an NHS paediatric unit, an adult learning facility and a shared use community leisure centre.
Futures for Somerset acted as Programme Manager for this Government funded PFI project. The overarching programme included a complex set of workstreams for the delivery of: Education Change Management, ICT Managed Services, Leisure Services, Community Use, Hard & Soft FM Services, Construction and Finance Management.
The campus has been developed to a very high quality specIfication, achieving BREEAM Very Good certification. The combined project capital cost was £26 million with an ongoing revenue cost of £60 million for the PFI FM Services contract.
