SATURDAY SWEEP

The Maroons baseball team came back in a thrilling walk-off win in Game 1 and then controlled Game 2 from the start in a twin bill sweep over visiting Central (Iowa).

Maroon's Game 1 Starter Brenton Villasenor struck out eight, scattered eight hits, walked one and didn't give up an earned run in 6 and a 1/3 innings.
First year Brian Lyle was the hero in Game 1, executing a perfect bunt down the first-base line for the walk-off, suicide squeeze in the Maroons' 5-4 win.
Game 2 starter Jacob Petersen allowed just two hits and struck out four in five innings pitched to improve to 4-2 on the year.

TENNIS

First-year Claire Handa earned her fourth UAA Athlete of the Week honor this season after going 6-0 over the weekend.
First-year Daryn Ellison, pictured, helped lead the Maroon women's tennis team to its third-straight Midwest Invite title over the weekend.

THREE-PEAT

With wins over Augustana, Gustavus Adolphus & Washington-St. Louis, the UChicago women's tennis team won its third-straight Midwest Invitational title in Madison, Wis.

MEN'S TENNIS

Senior Nicolas Chua and the Maroon men's tennis team are also back in action this weekend, as UChicago takes its 11-2 dual record to Wisconsin to take on Gustavus Adolphus and Washington-St. Louis in a pair of matches.

Inclement weather forced postponements for UChicago softball last week. The Maroons return to action this Thursday at home with a double header against Aurora (Ill.).

UChicago student-athletes helped organize WAA's Slam Dunk for Special Olympics event in early February, which raised more than $6,500 for the organization.
