The Ramble #1

Welcome to the first Ramsbottom Running Club newsletter.

'The Ramble' aims to keep members up to speed with the all important news and happenings within the club.

A word from the Chairman:

"Thank you all for becoming part of Ramsbottom Running Club. It has been hugely rewarding and satisfying to see the club develop, in such a short space of time, from an idea to a real life 'thing' which is already bringing so much pleasure to so many people.
Ramsbottom Running Club was very much borne from my own selfish desire to get out and chat with people having gone from a job where I was surrounded by workmates all day to working from home and becoming a little lonely.
To steal an analogy that I once heard parkrun founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt use 'the running is just the plumbing' and the real joy that Ramsbottom Running Club provides is through the interactions with all of the amazing people involved.
So thank you for joining the club and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you as we enjoy running together" Rowan (RRC001)

Oooh Patron!

Tom Williams, Chief Operating Officer of parkrun Global, Founder and ex-President of Hyde Park Harriers in Leeds and host of the UK's most downloaded running podcast (Marathon Talk) has kindly agreed to become Patron of Ramsbottom Running Club.

Tom will be a huge asset to the club, advising and guiding us as we continue to develop.

Club member Richard Ferguson (RRC026) is climbing Aconcagua, the highest mountain outside of Asia, at the end of December. He's promised to wear his Ramouflage neck tube all the way to the top! Best of luck Richard.

Say Hello to Ramsbottom Running Club's official kit! This design was voted for by members in December and will be available to buy in the new year. #BlacknSlate
