A Bold Future Awaits

District Council 4 knows what it takes to stay at the forefront of the Painting, Drywall Finishing and Glazing industries.

Training

Training is a key ingredient to the success of our members and contractors. All of our training is free to our contractors. Whether provided at a DC4 Training Facility or at your shop, we will be ready to supply the certifications and skills necessary for your workforce.

More Training

District Council 4 has training facilities in Buffalo and Cortland, New York. Each of our apprenticeship programs are registered with the New York State Department of Labor and require our apprentices to complete rigorous on-the-job and classroom training throughout a 3 or 4 year curriculum, depending on the trade.

A bridge in our Buffalo facility, with decking and containment, for training in all facets of Industrial Painting.
A classroom that used for computer-based and in-person learning.
A glazing mock-up where glazier apprentices can learn the skills necessary for the glazing trade.
A mock-up for drywall finishers, painters and glaziers can use to hone their skills.

  • DC4 contractors save 5-10% on workers compensation and payroll taxes due to our structured benefit packages.
  • Our shop and recovery agreements allow for wage flexibility.
  • Utilizing registered apprentices helps to lower payroll costs.
  • DC4's health and safety programs can lower a contractors EMR factor, lowering workers compensation costs on all projects.
  • DC4 affiliated contractors have access to a qualified workforce, allowing them to hire more employees as needed and laying off employees when they are not needed. This keeps payroll costs down during slower work seasons, but allows contractors to bid work without worrying about the size of their workforce.
  • Access to DC4's skilled Painters, Glaziers and Drywall Finishers means less lost time, less mistakes and more jobs completed on time and on budget.
