Scotland and Ireland Game of thrones ultimate tour

CHOOSE YOUR DATES! This trip is a MUST DO for any GOT fan! Visit the filming sites, explore two countries and have a vacation all in one! This is not your traditional bus tour in Ireland and Scotland, it's a self drive experience*

Day 1 - Depart the United States for an overnight flight into Edinburgh

Day 2 - Upon arriving at Edinburgh airport, collect your luggage and head to the counter for your rental car. Once car is picked up you will head to Melville Castle (or similar castle/hotel if unavailable) and check in for 3 nights, full Scottish breakfast included daily. Once checked in you can depart for a day of local sightseeing and visiting: Alnwick Castle ( Hogwarts), Rosslyn Chapel, and Doune Castle (Winterfell and Outlander). If you would like to drive into Edinburgh and visiting the famous Elephant House Cafe where JK Rowling wrote the Harry Potter series. This evening you head into Edinburgh for a Haunted Tour and Whiskey Tasting.

Day 3 - Full day tour into the Highlands to visit the famous Lochness and maybe a sighting of the Lochness Monster?

Day 4 - Take a trip to visit Edinburgh Castle or enjoy one of the optional tours: Whiskey Master Class, Outlander Tour, Highland Whiskey and Braveheart Tour, Whiskey & Highland Waterfalls or the Glenfinnan Viaduct (Hogwart's Express)

Day 5 - Check out of your hotel and return the car, board a short flight to Dublin. Pick up your rental car and drive to Belfast (2 hours), check into your hotel for 2 nights (daily breakfast). Once checked in, you can enjoy the legendary hop on/off bus in Belfast with entrance to the Titanic Museum.

Day 6 - This morning you will be picked up for your tour to Giant's Causeway and Game of Thrones Tour. Here you will visit the UNESCO site and along the way you will visit the following filming sites: 1. quaint town of Cushendun to see the caves in which Melisandre of Asshai gave birth to her ‘shadow baby’. 2. Ballycastle to see the site on which Varys was born, 3. The Dark Hedges (Kings Road), 4. Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (Iron Islands) 5. Slaver's Bay, 6. Ballintoy Harbor (the Pyke) and 7. Make a final stop at Downhill Strand, featured as Dragonstone.

Day 7 - Check out of your hotel and drive back to Dublin. Along the way you will visit Inch Abbey (where Rob Stark's camp was and where he was named King of the North), then onto Tollymore Forest (where Theon escaped and is hunted by Ramsay, also where most of the forest scenes are shot). Upon arrival in Dublin you will check into your hotel and get ready for tonight's Dublin Pub Tour

Day 8 - Today you will get the full Game of Thrones Experience: You will be picked up and taken to Experience the real Westeros with a visit to the Winterfell movie set at Old Castle Ward a beautiful castle & 1000 acre sprawling demesne used for filming the epic adaption of George RR Martins Game of Thrones novels. Your tour guide will show you around Winterfell Castle & its vast demesne (20 key film locations onsite) sharing fascinating stories about how the film sets where created onsite and some insider gossip about what the cast got up to behind-the-scenes. Your guide will also show you exclusive behind-the-scenes video clips, notebooks and photographs from the actual filming days. Key locations on this exclusive Game of Thrones tour can include: Winterfell Castle courtyard and archery experience, 'The Archway' from Kings Roberts Arrival to Winterfell Castle, 'Castle' where Bran falls from window ledge, 'Crooked Tree Branch' that overlooks Walder Freys Twins, 'The Mystical Tree' under which Robb & Talissa secretly marry, 'The Castle' that doubles as one of Walder Freys Twins, 'The Tree' where Brienne confronts the Starkmen. Included with this is the Archery Experience, and Meet the Direwolves. Upon returning to the hotel you will enjoy a full Irish House party with dinner!

Day 9 - Check out of hotel and drive to Kilkenny. Along the way you will visit the Waterford Museum and enjoy the Smithwick Experience. Check into your hotel and get ready for tonight's Kilkenny Ghost Walking Tour.

Day 10 - Check out of your hotel and drive to Killarney. Along the way you will visit the Blarney Castle, and the Jameson Distillery for the Jameson Experience. Check into your hotel in Killarney (breakfast daily). If you are looking for a unique dining experience, check out the Shire Bar....from Lord of the Rings.

Day 11 - This morning you will meet up for a full day Ring of Kerry Tour

Day 12 - This morning check out of your hotel and head to Ennis where you will stay for 2 nights (breakfast daily) Today you can enjoy the Bunratty Folk Park and this evening a dinner show at the Bunratty Castle for a medieval dinner.

Day 13 - Full day tour to the Cliffs of Moher for a tour and boat ride.

Day 14 - Check out of your hotel and drive back to Dublin to drop off the rental car and board your plane for your flight home.

Total cost for this trip is $3250 per person and includes: hotels, flights, daily breakfast, dinners/lunches where noted, tours and car rental. Deposit is $500 pp, final payment due 60 days prior to travel.

NOT included: optional tours, most meals, gratuities, insurance, car insurance and car gps. Please note, if you do not get the car insurance they will put a $5,000 hold on your credit card so it's highly recommended.

This is a two week schedule but can be shortened if you would like to exclude Scotland or exclude the sites after Dublin. *If you prefer not to drive, a private driver can be arranged for additional cost. Tours can be substituted depending on weather. Hotels can be substituted if not available. The car rental is for an economy sized manual car. All hotel rooms are double occupancy....single and third can be accommodated for additional fee. Other shows and tours can be added on for additional fee.
