10th March Roundup

Mens 1st team

The M1 took on local rivals Wilmslow in Division 3 having confirmed league status last time out. The home team found themselves 0-2 down within ten minutes after a slow start. The team regrouped to finish the first half strongly .

Bramhall found a way back into the game after Jamie White set up Chris Baldwin. Butch then made it 2-2 with a contender for goal of the season. The ladies senior coach showed the watching L1 faithful his full range of skills by beating four players and slamming the ball in on the reverse.

Despite sustained pressure the Bramhall lads lost their way in the middle of the second half and were 2-4 down. They regrouped and pushed their way back into the game with a Mike Bannister strike making the score 3-4. Bramhall continued to push for an equaliser which didn't come.

A game that could easily have been 5-5 shows how far the squad has come this season despite the narrow defeat.

Men's 2nd team

The men's second team continued their fine form at Alderley Edge. The visitors scored two unanswered goals to take all of the points in their last competitive game of the season. Recent recruits Rob Facer and Dave Wood both scored to show the youngsters how it is done.

Ladies 1st team

The L1 travelled to league leaders knowing that only a win would keep their title challenge alive. Unfortunately the hosts were in fine form and were already 3-1 up at half time. Bramhall had a couple of chances to get back in the game but the challenge was made harder by further Didsbury goals. The Didsbury win confirmed them as league champions. The ladies can still finish runners up to cap a strong season.

Ladies 2nd and 3rd team

The L2 kicked the day off with an early start at Didsbury. The team are still searching for the further 3 points that would make league survival achieved. They met a Didsbury team in no mood to do them any favours. The home side scored 7 goals to confirm second place in the league.

The L3 team were unable to stop the Didsbury steamroller as they were soundly beaten 3-5.

Ladies 4th team

The performance of the day came from the ladies 4th team. The perfect blend of youth and experience combined to deliver a 6-0 victory. The win places the team in 3rd place and in touching distance of the promotion places. Well done ladie!
