Humanutopia Year 11 Visit

Thursday the 2nd of March saw Humanotopia return to TMBS to deliver a day long session to the Year 11 cohort. Unlike their previous visit where they delivered a range of skills to the current year 10s, this visit focused on preparing the year 11s for their upcoming exams and on getting them into the best mindset possible.

PGL Visit March 4th & 5th

Over 60 TMBS year 11 students will be attending the PGL revision weekend over the 4th and 5th of March 2017. Taking place at historic Caythorpe Court, students can expect an exhilarating combination of outdoor pursuits and revision sessions. We look forward to bringing you details of the event soon.

What Career Live

Parents of year 11 students who are not attending the PGL revision trip may like to consider attending the 'What Career Live' event at the NEC this weekend. The event runs across both the 3rd and 4th at Birmingham's NEC, is free to enter and is targeted at school leavers aged 16-19. For more information on the event click on the button below.

Sporting Highlights

TMBS played their annual rugby fixture against Broxbourne School from Hertfordshire. The fixture, now in its 26th year was played at MBRFC who then fed the teams after the games. After two hard fought games, both year 7 and 8 drew, year 7: 25-25 and year 8: 34-34.

TMBS are in the county rowing finals at under 16. Taking place at Loughborough University on April 5th.

TMBS boys played in the county's badminton finals.

Revision Apps

With Careers Week approaching the ‘app of the week’ this week is National Careers Service. The National Careers Service app is free to download and provides learning and work related information, including an interactive careers toolkit to help you to develop a CV, search for work, prepare for an interview and more. There’s also a job profile section with information about specific job roles, what they involve, the qualifications you’ll need and where to look for vacancies. (Source - App store)

Students can expect to receive their log-in details for the PiXL app over the coming weeks. The PiXLit app is an online assessment system that identifies your strengths and areas to develop with 16 different texts. Strengthen your understanding of selected texts by engaging in a range of interactive activities that revolve around character learning, quotation learning, events and happenings, and terminology.

Year 11 English Revision Sessions

The English department are putting on a comprehensive program of revision sessions after school. Sessions will run from 3:00 to 3:45. You can find full details listed below to help students plan their revision.

Richard III Commemoration

Market Bosworth's market square will play host next month to a variety of events in commemoration of the re-internment of Richard III.
