Theme: knowledge is Power
Quote From the Book: “Somewhere, far down, there was an itch in his heart, but he made it a point not to scratch it. He was afraid of what might come leaking out.”
Example: Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater than the person who has nothing to eat. I love reading in Daniel, the uncompromising integrity that Daniel and the other three Jews have, that following God costs everything and requires faith that is unbending. It leads even the most powerful king to praising the one true God. Yaweh, the God who will not be denied.
Real World Example: There is no development without education. The world community has long since recognized this fact and developed clear political demands and consciousness on the subject as well. The second Millennium Development Goal specified by the United Nations says that all human beings should have access to a basic education. There has been progress, although it has been slow and heavily variable by region. The percentage of children who attend schools increased from 1999 to 2009 by seven percent, to a total of 89 percent.
