MOVEMENT THROUGH THERAPY
Movement through therapy is a dance class geared to using a psychotherapeutic approach of using movement and dance techniques to promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of an individual or group. We focus on movement behaviors as a therapeutic relationship for an individual or group treatment. Sessions often include observation, assessment, warm-ups, interventions, verbal processing, and warm-down phases focused on closure. Sessions can be highly structured or non-directive depending on the individual or group. Through our process we have found that The creative expression of dance therapy can bolster communication skills and inspire dynamic relationships among our clients.
Our client bases consist of mostly women in the age group of 21-35, whom mostly are working professionals, and suffer from varied mental health issues in the NYC Metro Area.
We partner with local yoga studios throughout the NYC Metro Area to offer this class to clients and our Class Rate are as follows:
