Born at Avila, Old Castile, 28 March, 1515 and died Oct. of 1582

She left the house in 1535, to enter the Carmelite Convent of the Incarnation at Avila, which then counted 140 nuns.

She then got very sick and then healed but her heal was permetly impared after this

Teresa is best known today as one of the great Catholic mystics

She had many mystical experiences, and was given the name Doctor of the church
