Human Trafficking In Colorado "Whenever an event draws people from around the world, you will see an increase in sex trafficking," said FBI Denver Special Agent in Charge Thomas Ravenelle.

DEFINITION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labor or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs.

A 15-year-old victim, had been transported to Colorado from California by traffickers specifically for "420 Week." 420 week is a week where people clebrate weed. Trafficking is at its highest, when there are big events going on.

Human trafficking is a big deal in Colorado because the big highways run through our state and lead straight to other states

Human trafficking victims are taken and trafficked not just in the state they were from but all over the world. A victim from October said she was, trafficked all over she started in Colorado, moved to Wyoming and then from there she had gone back to Colorado then down to Texas and then was found and rescued in new Mexico. She had been kidnapped when she was 13,she was 26 when she was found.

Human Trafficking is known as the modern day slavery!
