Pasture Valley Newsletter November - December 2017

Luke 2: 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favour rests.“

PASTURE VALLEY wishes you all a blessed and happy Christmas and new year! Thank you for all your support and prayers. We love you!

Christmas is always a festive and happy time for Pasture Valley. We celebrated Jesus’s birth with a wonderful Christmas lunch and opening of presents. The children performed a great Christmas play for us and did so well, reciting long pieces of Scripture. Claire directed the play and it had a modern theme this time with Mary being a Swazi maiden and the wise men dressed in suits. The children all looked so beautiful.

RECEIVING A “ GIFT FROM GOD”

This Christmas we have received a really special gift from God. We collected this little boy a few days ago and his name in Siswati means “Gift from God”. He has come to join his other 2 siblings at Pasture Valley and is 2 years old. He was a little overwhelmed by such a big family initially but soon started to run around and settle in.

CHILDREN’S OUTREACH CHRISTMAS FUNCTION

Over 200 children attended the Christmas function held on the 2nd of December at Pasture Valley. Children were transported from all parts of the region. It was a blessed day with lots of activites, food and fun. The theme was to “ be prepared for Jesus’s coming”. The younger children (and some of the older ones) loved the jumping castle. Each child left with a T-shirt, some stationery and toiletry supplies and a sweetie packet. One child told a staff member that he does not want to go back home and asked to stay at Pasture Valley as he was having a lot of fun. We trust that the day brought a little joy to some of them

ZONDLE GIRLS CARE CENTRE CHRISTMAS FUNCTION

We had a wonderful Christmas function at Hlatikulu with the Zondle girls. They prepared a meal of chicken for us and sang some beautiful hymns. Gogo Constance also joined us. They each received a Christmas gift and sweets and it was a blessed time together

BAMBANANI YEAR END FUNCTIONS

We have met with each of the four Bambanani groups of ladies to wish them a happy Christmas and thank them for their hard work during the year. They truly produce beautiful crafts and it is a blessing to work with them. They each received a food hamper and production bonuses

PASTOR GRADUATION AT PASTURE VALLEY

Eighteen pastors graduated at Pasture Valley this year having completed their ISOM course. They testified that they had learnt a lot in the course and hope to take the light out to the world

PRESCHOOL GRADUATIONS

I was asked to speak at 4 preschool graduations this year and it was a privilege to see these little ones ready to enter primary school with a good foundation.

CHRISTMAS AT GOGO NDE CENTRE

Pasture Valley arranged a Christmas celebration at Gogo Nde centre in Kubuta. The children really loved their Christmas gifts and T-shirts

25th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

On 12-12-1992 Peter and I stood at the altar and made our wedding vows to each other. Twenty five years later we can only say that we are grateful to God for His protection and His love and for the wonderful children we have.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Gratefulness for Jesus’ gift to the world as we remember His birth on earth over Christmas.
  • Gratefulness for God’s provision at Pasture Valley.
  • Gratefulness that Happiness has completed her treatments of chemotherapy.
  • For the children as they prepare for another year of schooling.
  • For Taiwan and her team as they return to Zambia after Christmas.
  • Gratefulness for all our farm staff that keep the farm and dairy going year after year.
