The nomad home was often dry and arid. Rain meant life or death to the Hebrews, without rain families, stock and herds would die from hunger and thirst. But to much rain would flood, coursing the rivers to over flow and drown some plant and animals not to mention humans the Hebrews lived simple so carrying to much supplies when traveling would become very difficult. The only things they seemed to carry were tents poles and ropes.
