Throughout this class, I have learned an enormous amount about my skills and how much I enjoy using these design tools. I first learned about how to colorize photos using Photoshop, which I previously didn’t have any knowledge about. This progressed into using other functions and tools in Photoshop, like the eraser tool and the lasso tool. I had the most fun making the Postcard assignment. I learned how to cut myself out of one picture and place it into another photo.
The hardest part of all of the projects was the InDesign Project. We had to really take our time and plan out what all wanted to be on our travel brochure. It was also challenging to figure out the different software’s between the three different applications that we used. InDesign was very hard to figure out at first, but once I learned the methods, it became easier. I had a lot of trouble getting certain images into my project, but I got it figured out after some playing around and trying different formats.
Overall, I am very happy with all of the new skills that I have learned through each of these projects this semester. If I could do anything differently, it would be to watch more tutorials and learn more about each program before I started the projects. I would also allow myself a little more time to get everything done. Although there were some challenges, I learned a lot throughout the semester and I think I will take my new skills with me and use them quite often, especially in the line of work I am hoping to get into.
