The Creation of the Holy Roman Empire By: maci reynolds

Clovis

Clovis became king when he was 15.

Clovis united the flanks together.

Charlemagne

Gathered the smartest scholars and worked to preserve text and records.

Encouraged learning because he was concerned about the amount of people that couldn't read or write.

Pepin the Short

Removed Lombard's from Rome and gave their lands to the pope.

Weakened the ties between the byzantine and the church empire.
