Yesterday four year 6 pupils and Mrs Hughes took part in the Primary Engineering festival held at Boscombe Down. The aim of the festival was to interest and excite children about engineering.
The two teams of Molly & Rosa and Jessica & Alex had created projects and fully working model, which they took with them to display at the festival. Rosa and Molly were awarded the 'Best Themed project'. Well Done.
Congratulations in week 5 to: Madeleine Martinsen, Riley James, George Alvis, Chloe Burns, Isla-Mae Snoddy, Ava Riddell, Joshua Neale and Hannah Nelson

Wiltshire Kwik Cricket Festival
Congratulations to our 2 cricket teams who played at Chippenham Cricket club last week. Both teams played brilliantly and were a credit to the school. The red team progressed to the semi-finals where they met a very strong ByBrook Valley team who went on to win the competition overall. Thanks to all involved for a great day
Our Y6 Young leaders are busy again this term running a Netball lunchtime club for Y4. It is great to see them passing on their skills to the younger pupils whilst also developing their own leadership and organisiation skills.
Chippenham Borough Lands are pleased to announce a new Tree Sculpture Competition for local Primary aged children in Chippenham. They are creating a Tree Sculpture trail on their land at Westmead Open Space and need local children to help.
They already have the first sculpture, a beautiful owl. The owl was created by Ollie Adams. Ollie has kindly agreed to carve more wooden creatures to create the sculpture trail through the woodland.
CBLC would like local children to provide the designs for the new tree sculptures. Please see below the detail of how to apply and the prizes that are on offer below. The competition deadline is Friday 7th June.
Further details are available on the CBLC website.
10 Raffle tickets (2 books) have been sent out with your eldest child at the school this week - please use any opportunities over half term to sell the tickets to friends and relatives. Prizes are: 1st Prize - 3 night weekend caravan stay in North Cornwall for six; 2nd Prize - Chippenham Football Club adult season ticket (1 child goes free); 3rd Prize - Bath Attractions Family ticket. The draw will take place at Monkfest on Saturday 22nd June.
There will be a Mufti (non-uniform) Day on 7th June, for which FOMPS would appreciate a donation of 'fun in the sun' themed gifts towards the Monkfest tombola.
It has been a FOMPS tradition for a long time to display the school bunting at the summer fair. This has been made over the years by the addition of a piece of bunting made specifically by, with or for your child. Please use the attached template to make one for your child if you have not already done so and hand them into the office by June 20th. Cloth bunting is preferred as it will last a lot longer if the weather is inclement (which of course will not be the case this year!).
