La Musica Romeo Santos

Real name Anthony Romeo Santos
Early Years. Anthony 'Romeo' Santos was born in The Bronx, New York, on July 21, 1981. Thanks to his parents (Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother), Romeo Santos was exposed from a very young age to the sounds of Tropical genres, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata. When he was 13 years old, Romeo Santos joined the choir of his church, an experience that allowed him to discover his unique vocal skills. Before the success of Aventura, Santos founded a group called "Los Tinellers" ("The Teenagers" written phonetically in a Dominican pronunciation), with his cousin Henry and two friends in the early 1990s. The group released an album called Trampa de Amor, and by the end of the decade, they changed the name of the band to Aventura.
Romeo was the main songwriter and producer of Aventura, an American bachata band from The Bronx, New York and the band's lead singer. Aventura was formed in 1997 by Anthony "Romeo" Santos, Henry Santos, Lenny Santos, and Max Santos, all natives of The Bronx, but having families born in the Dominican Republic
Just as he entered adulthood, Romeo received life-changing news. The Bachata star found out his son Alex, now 13, was on the way just as his career began to take off. “I thought, I’m not ready to have a kid,” Santos told the magazine. “We were about to get a record deal. I didn’t know what was going to happen with me professionally. In retrospect, I was being selfish and not taking into account the real priority: my son.”“I remember thinking that I was writing songs like ‘Amor de Madre,’ which is about a woman who turns to prostitution to feed her son after the father abandons them, and I was being a coward in my own life,” he confessed to Latina. “I was being a hypocrite.” The King of Bachata revealed that currently his love life is “good” and that he plans to keep it that way by keeping it private. When it comes to marriage, however, Romeo isn’t so sure he want to take that step in his life. “I don’t know if I believe in marriage—I believe in love,” He said. “I think marriage can sometimes turn things into a business. It stops being about feelings.”
