Greetings from Campus!
Today marks the last day of post-Thanksgiving (online from home) classes, and students and faculty alike are eagerly anticipating a relaxing winter break. Plans are underway for a safe return to campus in January following the successful protocols practiced this fall.
We hope you found time to join us virtually to catch up with classmates and friends, learn something new from alumni experts, or enjoy student artists. You can still view the dance concert, and choral/instrumental music outdoor, fireside performance. We've got a full calendar of virtual activities planned for the winter months, and we are regularly adding new topics and guests. Stay current by visiting the Alumni Events web page.

The Willistonian has fresh content online. Students from around the globe have filed stories that examine remote learning workloads, explore how the pandemic has affected holiday traditions, offer a sneak preview of this spring's theater production, and describe what it's like to share their remote learning space with a zebra!

Mark your calendars! Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. EST., Colin Mann, Director of Williston Northampton School Choirs, and the office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion present a series of guest speakers! Each gathering will include a live or pre-recorded performance as well as a Q&A session. Spotlight on: Henry Lombino '14
“This year in particular I made a promise to myself to make this ‘the year of projects,’” Lombino said. “Each one is a new opportunity to learn and grow and make mistakes.” A glance at his resume shows that Lombino hardly seems to rest! Currently on his plate? A collaboration with playwright Jack Spagnola '10.
Spotlight on: Rosemary Feit Covey '72
"For me, art is more important when it’s messy. You don’t even know why, but it somehow moves you. It means going into another world, not your own, and yet it connects to you so intensely and deeply."
Born and raised in South Africa, Feit Covey went from NSFG to Cornell University and then the Maryland Institute College of Art. The universal motifs she explored— landscapes, portraiture, domestic scenes, mythic imagery—conveyed an intensely personal vision. In December we hosted Niels Gjertson '98 for an interactive discussion on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency (video available in the resources section of WillistonConnects.) Photographer Sean Kardon '79 shared his experience as a photojournalist and offered tips on how to get that compelling photo, especially if using your phone's camera (video available in the "How To" section on the Wildcat Hub.)
