  • X4 Exposure 8 & Seminar 8-9 courses – end Fri, March 17th
  • Spring Break – Mon, March 20th to Fri, March 31st (No School)
  • Immunization Needles for grade 9s – TBA
  • (Northern Health doesn't announce in advance)
  • Return to School – Mon, April 3rd
  • Easter long weekend – Fri, April 14th & Mon, April 17th (No School)
  • Q3 Option 9 courses – ends Fri, April 21st
  • Q4 Option 9 courses – start Mon, April 24th

On Wednesday, March 15th students will be taking home their Term 2 Report Cards.

Gearing Up for 2017 – 2018

We are starting to plan and organize the 2017-2018 school year. Stay tuned for a full update in our April Newsletter.

Our Priorities for next year

  • Pods with Academics continue 60 – 90 students with 2 – 3 teachers in back-to-back blocks (alternating AM or PM).
  • Shared – Common Pod Teacher PREP opportunity to prep, plan and collaborate together amongst Pod teachers.
  • Flexibility with block schedule/timetable for Specialist teachers, spaces & places, Seminars, Exposures & Options.
  • Only two timelines 6 weeks & 12 weeks for courses.
Our Mission and 2016-17 Growth Plan
Band Update

The DCSS Concert Band has been awarded a $10 000 bursary from Musicounts, a non-profit organization that helps deserving public school music programs. The money will be used to buy new instruments, including flutes, clarinets, alto saxophones, and tenor saxophones. As more school instruments become available for students to use, the concert band and jazz band will continue to grow!
