Greenbrier Junior High School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) at the University of Arkansas as a school where students demonstrated high growth on the ACT Aspire. The OEP creates an annual report entitled the Outstanding Educational Performance Awards where they recognize schools with high student academic growth. GJHS received the following awards: Statewide High Overall Growth: High School Level, Statewide High Math Growth: High School Level, High Overall Growth: High School Level (Central Region), and High Math Growth: High School Level (Central Region). We are so proud of our students, teachers, and staff for this great accomplishment!!
Congratulations to our GJHS Spelling Bee Winners!!! After 25 rounds of play Tate Fletcher finished first, Gage Newkirk finished second, and Cory Coccarelli finished third!!! We are so proud of all of the contestants who made it to the Bee!
8th grade FACS classes participated in Food Truck and Cupcake Wars this week. Students applied literacy, measuring, and science skills as they analyzed recipes and practiced techniques. Students also learned the importance of safety and sanitation when preparing food!! 💙
Basketball season kicked off with our annual Blue/ White games Tuesday night at the Panther Pavilion. Thank you to Amy Wayne for the great pictures of our student athletes!!
9th grade GJHS students toured the Hendrix College campus rotating through the library and other parts of the campus. Thank you to Mrs. Tapley, Mrs. Dixon, Mr. White, and Mrs. Wilcox for giving our students this opportunity!

Semester Exam Exemption Criteria

In an effort to encourage and reward students for attending school daily, GJHS is offering semester exam exemptions for the Fall and Spring semesters!

  • Students will be exempt from semester testing if they miss 3 or fewer days of classroom instruction (excused or unexcused).
  • School business absences will not count against students.
  • Concurrent credit and AP courses require students take the semester/ final exam.
