A Message from Dr. Davina Hicks
Dr. Davina Hicks, PhD, MBA
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to another Sonshine Christian Academy School year! It is our sincere prayer that your summer was relaxing and enjoyable. As the upcoming school year quickly approaches, it is with great honor to accept the position as Head of School. While I am excited to be working at the school that once served to educate me, I am even more thrilled to announce the academic model of excellence strategy that will be implemented this upcoming school year.
The goal this year is for the teachers and school administration to partner with each student to try and achieve straight A’s. Our family of professional educators will accomplish this by focusing on Academic Achievement through Activity-Assessment Alignment, and Accountability. The teachers and staff of Sonshine Christian Academy are committed to helping each student thrive to reach these goals, but we need your help! Please partner with us by reinforcing the Straight-A message at home by reintegrating the goal of Academic Accomplishment through Attendance, Attitude, and Accelerated Activities. By sharing in the task of scholastic achievement, we will grow our youth with a unified effort of excellence. Together, with the help of God, we can do “all things through Christ which strengthens us” (Philippians 4:13). I ask that you stay prayerful as we endeavor to help each child reach their full potential of academic excellence, by stepping into success with our goal to create an enriched learning environment that engages each student. On behalf of the entire staff, we welcome both the returning and new students, and thank each parent/guardian for your cooperation and support. To ensure a successful school year ahead, please be mindful of the following:
