BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY

Linville Falls along the Blue Ridge Parkway
Upper falls can barley be seen
Wild iris just outside our door
Our camp spot had really good views
View along Blue Ridge Parkway. Grandfather Mountain is tallest mountain on left of photo
The drive along Blue Ridge Parkway is 469 miles. No commercial vehicle allowed on Parkway. Many turnouts to view mountains. The Parkway goes through North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. The drive is beautiful!!
The Blue Ridge Parkway was designed by a 21 year old grad student when there was so much bickering among states the original designer walked off the job.
The bridges were designer and built by an architect from Italy
High up on Grandfather Mountain
Swinging Bridge
Thi bridge didn't really swing that much
Our next stop was Waxhaw to visit friends Iris and Wendell. Debbie and Iris were high school friends
Home of Iris and Wendell Piepgrass

We had a wonderful time in North Carolina. We also were in South Carolina to get our truck serviced. North Carolina is so green. We had two days of severe thunderstorms. So goes the South!!!
