Mark Going Returns!

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Mark Going, will return as a full time professor of music and director of our college choir, the Sounds of Victory this fall. Mark and his wife, Marsha, have four children who have all grown and blessed the Goings with 6 grandchildren! He has served more than 30 years in music ministry to churches and colleges in Indiana, Kansas, North Carolina and Florida. He holds a Masters in Church Music from Pensacola Christian College. Mr. Going's godly character, friendly smile, and spiritual approach to the ministry of music is well known by our Southeastern family.

Music Education Major to Begin Again!

With the addition of Mr. Going to our faculty we are delighted to announce that we will be able to reinstitute the Bachelor in Music Education this fall!

New Role for the Pendleys

Mr. DJ Pendley, who has been with Southeastern since 2011 and has proven to be a valuable member of our faculty, has agreed to expand his duties and become our Dean of Men beginning in the fall. He and his family will move into the men’s dorm this summer.

Mrs. Catherine Pendley, the wife of DJ, will become our new Librarian. Mrs. Pendley, who will also teach in the education department, has been a valuable member of the faculty at Hilltop Christian School. She is presently working on her Master of Library Science degree from East Carolina University.

New Adjunct Faculty Announced

Pastor Austin Clark will join us as an adjunct professor in Greek and Bible. Brother Clark is the pastor of the Faith FWB Church in Rockingham. He has a Master’s degree from Liberty and has significant work toward earning his doctorate.

Pastor Tim McCreight will join us as an adjunct professor in Bible. Brother McCreight, a Southeastern alumnus, is the pastor of the Shady Grove FWB Church in Durham. He has a Master’s degree from Crown College.

Brother Justin Smith, Family Pastor at Faith Free Will Baptist in Goldsboro, will be teaching our Introduction to Biblical Studies this fall. Justin, is a Southeastern alumnus who has a Master’s degree from West Coast Baptist College.

Miss Andrea Baer, math and science teacher at Cramerton Christian Academy and Southeastern alumna, will be tutoring College Trigonometry for us this fall. Andrea has a Master’s degree from Pensacola Christian College

Other Important Faculty News

Missionary David Aycock, veteran missionary to Brazil, is again helping us by teaching two online mission classes this fall. Brother David has taught for us in the past, both online and in the classroom. All four of his children are Southeastern graduates. He has an M.Div from Liberty University.

Brother Jim Marcum has agreed to teach three pastoral classes this fall and two in the spring. Brother Jim, the most recent president of Southeastern, has decades of experience as a pastor and a Master’s degree from Welch College.

Our Director of Development, Steve Berry has agreed to teach our “Local Church and World Missions” class this fall. Brother Steve will be drawing on his many years in both the pastorate and involvement with the mission field. He has led two Spanish speaking church plants including one with a Bible institute which has been training and sending out Spanish speaking preachers for over 20 years.

Associate in Business

We have just received word from the authorities in North Carolina that we will now be able to offer an Associate Degree in Christian Business (formerly, our Christian School of Business Diploma). This change will be a great help to our Business majors.

Dormitory Improvements

This summer we are busy giving our dormitories a facelift with not only new paint in each room but a bathroom makeover including new flooring!
