This Photo displays the stock market crash on Black Tuesday, 1929. 16 million shares were traded (A record!), and 30 billion dollars disappeared after this Event occurred, due to the closing of dozens of banks. (http://www.english.illinois.edu/maps/depression/photoessay.htm)
This image is of “Migrant Mother.” This image shows what has happened due to the great depression. “The photograph of "Migrant Mother" Florence Thompson epitomized the despair of migrant families struggling in the Great Depression of the 1930s, with the legacy of the image remaining in the 1990s. Thompson, a mother of 10, is simultaneously a symbol of both poverty and hope for those living in Central Valley, CA.
This is a symbol of the new deal. It represents freedom, and support for those who are being negatively effected by the great depression. it also applies that the people that are rich
