Mrs. Bloomquist is so proud of the 3rd-5th grade students who have taken on the Children's Choice Challenge at McKinley! After students read an Iowa Children's Choice award book, they roll a die to determine the question they answer about the book. Once they've done that, they earn a small prize and a punch in their reading card!

Mrs. Bloomquist is also really excited to see which Goldfinch book is the favorite of the younger students! Once they've read at least five Iowa Goldfinch award books, they will get to write their name on a voting slip and place it under that book's picture. If they find a new favorite, they'll get to move their voting slip!

Central Middle School 8th graders in Ms. Wiebe's ag class wrapped up their ag business unit with a sales project. They had to pick an ag product to learn about (most picked food) and pretend to be a salesperson for the product. They gave a sales pitch to a customer (business owners, retired teachers, ag supporters and administration) to "sell" their product. Through this project they worked on introductions, good handshakes, building rapport, listening to people, different sales techniques, and also some about ag products.
