The House of Hades By Rick Riordan

The House of Hades is the 4th book in the "Heroes of Olympus" series and is written by Rick Riordan. This book takes place in modern day, but involves ancient Greek and ancient Roman culture as many of the charcters are children of gods. The book is about 7 main characters (Annabeth, Frank, Hazel, Jason, Leo, Percy, and Piper) who are trying to stop Gaea and her forces from destroying the world, while Percy and Annabeth are trying to escape from Tartarus. The book starts off with Percy and Annabeth who have fallen into a pit leading to Tartarus, who soon find out that Gaea's army is constantly being made and entering the world through the "doors of death". All the characters must work together in order to put an end to Gaea and save the world, facing many obstacles on the way to achieving this goal.

Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan is an author who is well known for his popular series about a kid named Percy Jackson. Riordan's new series named Heroes of Olympus is a 5 book series that includes The House of Hades, and continues on with the character Percy Jackson, and at the same time throwing new characters into the mix.

My opinion on the book is that it is okay. This book in my opinion is the worst out of the whole series so far, and I believe that this is due to the little action that occurs in this book. The books in this series prior to "The House of Hades" had been more interesting and had more action. The House of Hades doesn't seem to me like its even a book with Percy Jackson in it.

Date of Publication: October 8, 2013

The message I believe that the author Rick Riordan is trying show is to never give up. This is the message that I believe that the author is trying show because even though the characters have many obstacles in their way, they are still able to have the strength to try and reach their goals.
