About Hugo Chavez:

Hugo Chavez was born in Sabaneta, Venezuela, July 28th 1954. He was a Venezuelan politician, who was president of Venezuela from 1999 to 2013. Chavez used authorization rule to unify Latin America and to keep the region free from inference of foreign power. He and a group of military officers let an attempt to overthrow the government of President Carlos Andres Perez. Chavez took office in February 1999. His approval ratings grew quickly, in the first couple of weeks he was declared President of Venezuela. He passed controversial laws and move to limit the Independent press. He than died on March 5th, 2013

He is tied to the 8 Themes in World History, because he falls mostly around "Revolution." He tried to overthrow President Carlos Andres Perez, but failed, Once he got he became allies with other countries, He was elected president 3 times, during his time, he nationalized key industries, including electricity and telecommunications, and what left of the private oil sector.
