What's Happening at Timbers?

Big Kahuna Fundraiser Rewards with the Principal!

Scholars worked hard during our Big Kahuna Fundraiser! We hope they enjoyed the party bus last week. There are still more rewards though! Those scholars who sold enough Big Kahuna Fundraiser items to have Chik-fil-a with Mrs. Bachemin will have lunch on Tuesday, November 17th. Scholars who sold enough fundraiser items to mummify Mrs. Bachemin will have their fun on Friday, November 22nd!

Our Book Fair is Here!

We are still in need of volunteers for this week's book fair. If you'd like to volunteer to assist, please go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080E48AFAA2BA0FB6-fall to sign up to help. Email our Librarian, Mrs. Wilson, at Kimberly.Wilson@humbleisd.net for more information.

Thanksgiving Feasts

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday and Friday for this year's Thanksgiving Feasts! Please be sure you have returned the RSVP to your child's teacher to make signing in for the event quick and easy. If you plan to take your scholar home after lunch, you will be able to sign them out in the cafeteria; however, scholars will not be allowed to return to the classroom to get their belongings until the end of the lunch period.

Thursday, Nov. 21: Pre-K, 1st, 3rd and 5th Grades

Friday, Nov. 22: Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th Grades

Celebrating Our Staff

Teachers and staff have been touched by your words of appreciation for what they do! Please continue to let me know what specific staff members have done to make your child(ren) love Timbers! Click here to tell me about the person who makes Timbers the best school for your student and your message will be included in our staff newsletter for all to see!

Coffee Talk

You're invited to have coffee with Mrs. Bachemin on Wednesday, December 4th, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. She'll be available to hear your ideas, comments, concerns, and anything else you'd like to share about your and your child(ren)'s experience at Timbers so far this year. Winter Wear

Parents are encouraged to write scholars names in jackets, coats, winter hats, and gloves so that they are easy to return when they are left in the cafeteria or at recess. There is a collection of coats and jackets hanging in the front foyer. If your child has lost one, please stop by to take a look!

Guidance/Great 8 Skills

Timbers follows Humble ISD's adoption of the Great 8 character education skills. Timbers students are focusing on self-management skills for the second nine weeks. Students will continue to demonstrate self-awareness and personal responsibility through managing emotions an actions.

Attendance Reminders

When your child(ren) are absent from school, you must call the absence hotline at (281)641-2019 for each day absent, and send a note to school the day they return. If the school does not receive a phone call or note from a guardian, the absence is considered unexcused.

Student Birthdays

Parents may purchase a frozen birthday treat for their child’s class during their lunch time. Frozen treats may be purchased from the cafeteria for 75 cents each to be distributed after the children finish their lunch. Please notify the cafeteria at (281) 641-2008 one week prior to the event in order to have enough treats on hand for all interested. If parents wish to bring cupcakes to school, they may do so. However, please ensure that the treats are store bought as well as notify the teacher two days in advance so that the teacher has ample time to contact the parents of those with allergies arranging for an alternate treat. Parents may drop off the treats at the front office so that birthdays may be celebrated the final 20 minutes of the school day. As a reminder of district policy, students are not permitted to pass out party invitations at school unless every student in the class receives one.
