Tiger Tales Carmel elementary school newsletter

Celebrating Veteran's Day

It was a very special week at Carmel Elementary, full of love and support for the members of our armed services. Our 4th graders and the 4th/5th grade choir performed a total of three(!) concerts to honor our vets, one at Carmel Christian Church (where Mrs. Ingles is a member) and two at our school where we hosted many guests with connections to our students. And in Art class, Mrs. Rodriguez worked with students to create meaningful messages to line the hallways of our school.

CES Green Team Needs YOUR Recyclables!

Our Green Team Club members are collecting soda cans to be recycled to earn money for our school. Bring your cans to the bins located at the front entrance or in the teacher’s lounge.

We are also collecting Christmas lights that don’t work anymore. There is a bin outside of the library where families can put them. They'll be taken to a recycling location so they don’t go into the landfill.

Kindergarten Family Bowling Update

Unfortunately we weren't able to host our kindergarten bowling family event due to Thursday's weather closure. We will reschedule for December...stay tuned for details!

THANKS a Bunch!

We collected nearly 200 pounds of candy for Operation Gratitude...wow! (And just think of all the cavities we prevented for our students!) A big thank you to First Internet Bank for taking care of shipping all of that sugary goodness to our troops.

Also, we'd like to thank Fresh Thyme Market for donating the delicious cookies for our Veteran's Day concert this week. So generous!

Winter Spirit Wear is NOW AVAILABLE!

We are super excited about our offerings for Winter Spirit Wear this year...so many cool designs and great quality garments to shop from! Many items will make great gifts for your CE Tiger...or even your middle- or high-school aged kids. Adult sizes are also available. Orders must be placed ONLINE by November 30. Want to see how the garments look and feel? We have set up samples outside of the front office...stop by and take a peek!

Film Club

All Carmel Elementary 4th and 5th grade students are invited to join Film Club. This year, we will be making another movie! Climb, an original musical by Mrs. Karen Najjar, will start production in December and will debut in May. Carmel Elementary Film Club students will be the actors, student directors, musicians, and camera crew. Information will be sent home with 4th and 5th graders this week and is also posted on the PTO website (link below).
