CEO Message

Rainbows always follow a storm.

What an extraordinary year! When the first lockdown and school closures were announced just over a year ago, I would never have predicted what would follow.

As we move into the summer term, I can only hope that we achieve some sense of normality and are able to go back to the things we hold most dear: leadership, teaching and learning, children!

We are absolutely thrilled to have all of our children back in school across the Trust, and particularly pleased for the staff and children of Kilnhurst who have moved back into their own school site: it looks amazing!

I hope you all have a fantastic Easter break and are able to spend some much needed time with friends and family, even it does have to be outdoors!

Kilnhurst School

After over a year the staff and children of Kilnhurst Primary School have finally moved back in!

The long wait has been worth it; the school looks fantastic and has been remodelled to include 3 new library areas, additional meeting room space and a complete upgraded of the ICT infrastructure.

A huge thanks to Dave Fitzgibbons, and the wider Trust team for all their hard work in adding the final touches and to the local community for their support and understanding during the building works.

World Book Day Winners

Our World Book Day effort this year centred around reading aloud to children to engage and immerse them in the exciting world of children’s literature with a MAT wide reading of Danny the Champion of the World for KS2 and a collection of picture book favourites for EYFS and KS1. We also held a book cover competition across the MAT with three fabulous winners who all received their very own design made into the sleeve of the book!

Leading by example!

Children at Anston Brook have been leading by example this week! They have bounced back into school life and certainly have an abundance of energy and enthusiasm. Year 6 led a live PE session for the whole school - amazing! Some future sports leaders in the making!

Swinton Queen Blogging Project!

The children at Swinton Queen Primary School have been working hard over the last few weeks to develop their blogging skills! After some initial input, staff and children have started to publish their writing on the world wide web! They have already hit audiences in New Zealand, Australia, Norway and Brazil to name put a few!

Wentworth Wellbeing

Like many of our Trust schools, Wentworth CofE have placed a real emphasis on supporting children's wellbeing during the lockdown period. The school made sure that the usual wellbeing sessions took place, albeit online.

Great work!
