2019 St. Bonaventure Men's Soccer

snapshot

The 2019 St. Bonaventure men's soccer team features a roster with 17 returning players and 15 newcomers. The Bonnies will not have an easy schedule, playing only six games at home and 11 contests on the road. The Brown and White will look to replace seven starters from a year ago.

"Obviously, we lost a lot of players last year," head coach Kwame Oduro said. "With 15 new players coming in this year, we are still trying to gel together as a team before the season starts. We are excited; we have good players with good talent and we hope that they can put it all together on the field."

The Bonnies graduated their starting striker, Kosi Nwafornso, who had 18 goals and seven assists in 65 career games played. Over the four years, Nwafornso also knocked in six game-winning goals and was an All-Atlantic 10 performer. Bona also lost starting goalkeeper, Luke Iacobellis. The three-year starter played in 53 career games and tallied 13 career shutouts.

"It’s difficult to lose guys like that. When you recruit, you hope that you can better your team overall," Oduro said. "The crazy thing about college is that you don’t know how they are going to pan out until they step on the field. There are some tough and big shoes to fill for these kids and we believe that they have the talent to do so."
