After helping lead Florida Southern College volleyball to a pair of wins over the weekend, including a massive upset of No. 9 Palm Beach Atlantic, sophomore Rachael Martin, and senior Bethany Besancenez have been named as the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player and Setter of the Week. [9/28] - Mocs Spear Sailfish, Extend Home Win Streak to 24 ... Florida Southern College volleyball scored a massive upset in Sunshine State Conference action on Friday by upending No. 9 Palm Beach Atlantic, 3-1, at Jenkins Field House. The Moccasins (9-6, 4-3 SSC) set the tone early by dominating the Sailfish (14-2, 6-2) in the first set and rolled to their 24th-straight victory at home. The victory is Florida Southern's third-straight and pushes the Mocs' home record to a perfect 8-0 this season (read more).

[9/29] - Volleyball Tops Sharks for Fourth-Straight Win ... With a lengthy home winning streak on the line, Florida Southern College volleyball delivered yet again with a 3-0 sweep of Sunshine State Conference foe Nova Southeastern on Saturday night at Jenkins Field House. The Moccasins (10-6, 5-3 SSC) improved to 8-0 at home this year and won their fourth-straight contest overall while topping the Sharks (4-12, 2-7) for the fifth-straight time. (read more).

[9/28] - Florida Southern Falls at Home to Tampa ... Florida Southern College women's soccer dropped its Saturday night contest 3-2 to Tampa. The Mocs (3-6-1, 1-3-0 SSC) saw Tampa (5-2-3, 3-0-1 SSC) score first but quickly erased the deficit and took a 2-1 lead over the Spartans. (read more).

[9/28] - Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #12 (September 30, 2009) ... From 2007-10 under head coach Ben Strawbridge, the Florida Southern women's soccer team won 48 games, played in the Sunshine State Conference Championship Game twice and reached the NCAA Tournament three times. It's the most successful four-year run the Moccasins have ever had in soccer and there were plenty of highlights from those seasons that could have made the top-20 countdown (read more).

[9/25] - Moccasins Set New High-Water Mark in National Men’s Soccer Poll ... Following wins over Rollins and Saint Leo last week, the Florida Southern men's soccer team moved up nine spots in the September 25 United Soccer Coaches National Poll, establishing a new high-water mark for the program now in its second year under head coach Jason Carlson. Now ranked No. 9 in the country, the Moccasins surpassed their previous high of No. 18 established in 1999, which they matched last week when they broke into the poll for the first time in eight years (read more).

[9/25] - Early Flurry Gives No. 9 Florida Southern 3-0 Win at Flagler ... It took Florida Southern less a minute to score its first goal Tuesday night in a non-conference match at Flagler College, but a little bit longer to score its second and third. A little, but not by much. James Meehan scored first and seventh-minute goals, and Pablo Gallo Arias scored in the 12th minute to send the 9th-ranked Moccasins on their way to a 3-0 win at Flagler (read more).

[9/25] - Top-20 Soccer Moments at Barnett Field, #13 (November 2, 1963) ... After winning their first conference championship in 1958 when they went 6-1, the Moccasins went through a rough patch over the next four years, during which time they won only four games, two of which came against Emory, the only non-conference team they played during the first eight seasons Florida Southern had a team (read more).

[9/28] - Unstoppable Blast by Appiah Lifts No. 9 Florida Southern to 1-0 Win at Tampa as Moccasins Set Record for Best Start ... Florida Southern's defense was tested several times throughout the night Saturday at the University of Tampa, but each time it had the correct answer. The Spartans, however, had no answer for one Florida Southern defender in particular. Foster Appiah not only helped the Moccasins post their seventh shutout of the season, the junior center back also scored the only goal of the match with an unstoppable blast into the upper reaches of the net, giving 9th-ranked Florida Southern a 1-0 win for the best start in team history (read more).

[10/02] - SSC Honors Jones For Second Time This Season ... Sophomore Mason Jones has been selected as the Sunshine State Conference Male Runner of the Week for the second time this season. Jones, who was the SSC Freshman of the Year last year, was also named SSC Runner of the Week on Sept. 3. (read more).

[9/28] - Jones Records Third-Fastest 8K in FSC History as Mocs Take Fifth ... Sophomore Mason Jones recorded the third fastest 8K time in Florida Southern history with a 24:36 to finish fifth overall and tops among Division II runners at the Queens City Invitational at McAlpine Creek Park. Behind Jones, the Moccasins finished fifth overall with 171 points (read more).

[9/28] - Flemming Leads Mocs to 5th Place Finish at Queens City Invite ... Hannah Flemming turned the fastest Florida Southern 5K since 2008 with a time of 18:19 to place 23rd overall and lead the Florida Southern women's cross country team to a fifth-place showing overall (second amongst Division II institutions) at the Queens City Invitational held Friday at McAlpine Creek Park. [9/24] - Moccasins Go One-Under in Round Two at Columbus State as FSC Men’s Golf Team Tied for Fourth at Cougar Invitational ... Behind a pair of 69s by Chase Ibbotson and Michael VanDerLaan, 4th-ranked Florida Southern climbed steadily up the standings in the second half of Monday's action at the Cougar Invitational. When all the cards were in, the Moccasins had the best score of the round with a 283 (-1) and ended day one of the tournament tied for fourth out of 17 teams, and only five shots behind first-place Valdosta State (read more).

[9/25] - What a Finish: Mocs Shoot -11 in Final Round to Take the Lead Before Carson-Newman Wins Cougar Invitational at the End ... Halfway through the first two rounds of the Cougar Invitational, the Florida Southern men's golf team was in 11th place, though an eight-shot deficit at that point was far from insurmountable. As long as the Moccasins played well in the final two rounds, new head coach Lee White knew they would still be among the contenders at the end. The Moccasins did indeed play well, putting together a final-round score of -11 to climb all the way into first before No. 16 Carson-Newman (TN) went four-under on the final two holes to finish three shots ahead of Florida Southern (read more).

[9/28] - Florida Southern up Two Spots to No. 2 in New GCAA National Poll ... Following their runner-up finish at the Cougar Invitational earlier this week, the Florida Southern men's golf team has moved up to No. 2 in the first regular season edition of the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll. The Moccasins are up two spots from their preseason ranking, with Barry University the new No. 1, and the top six teams in the poll all from the Sunshine State Conference (read more).

[10/01] - Florida Southern Holds Position at No. 5 in WGCA National Rankings ... In the first regular season poll of the 2018-19 season, the Florida Southern women's golf team is tied for fifth, maintaining its position from the preseason poll previously announced on September 4. The new edition of the poll, on October 1, still has the University of Indianapolis number one, but this time the Greyhounds are a unanimous pick for that spot with all 13 first-place votes and 300 points.(read more).

[10/01] - Rini Wins Overall Title at NCWSA Regionals ... Florida Southern College water ski made its season debut with another solid showing at this year's National Collegiate Water Ski Association (NCWSA) Eastern Regional. The Moccasins placed second overall as a combined men's/women's team as the Florida Southern men took first in the slalom and trick competitions, while the women were second in the slalom, trick, and jump categories. Four different skiers earned individual championships over the weekend. (read more).

[10/01] - Mocs Record Two Rocket League Wins ... Florida Southern College's eSports team picked up two more wins in Rocket League action this weekend as they topped the University of South Carolina and Grand Canyon Unversity. The Moccasins picked up a 2-0 victory over South Carolina and defeated Grand Canyon, 2-0, by way of a forfeit. Florida Southern narrowly missed out on a 3-0 record as it fell to the University of Southern California, 2-1 (read more).
