William Shakespeare Zac 8H

William Shakespeare was born 23 April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, UK. He was an English poet who was known for a lot of well known plays such as Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. Shakespeare got the nickname The Bard. Bard means poet and William was one of the very best. He later died on 23 April 1616.

Some of his main pieces of work include Romeo and Juliet which later became a movie, Macbeth, Hamlet and Julius Caesar. All were originally plays but they have been remembered throughout time and big Hollywood stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio has stared into today's version of these ancient tales.

William Shakespeare has revolutionised the way we speak today with terms like breaking the ice. He used thousands of words only once in all of his plays.
