Pluto was discovered in 1930.

Pluto was named after Roman god of the underworld.

Pluto is smaller than our moon.

It is very cold. And is covered with ice. It takes 248 years to travel around the sun.

Pluto spins backwards once every 6 days 9 hours. It has a moon called Charon. Two smaller moons have been found using the Hubble Telescope.

Pluto is now called a dwarf planet.
