Nature of Wires was formed in 1986 in Herefordshire, England. The original line-up was Gary Watts (synths & programming) and Andrew Stirling-Brown (vocals) and the dark electronic duo toured the United Kingdom, captivating fans with their melodic but muscular synthpop sound. In 1993 vocalist Sarah Bouchier, aka Lady B, joined Nature of Wires, but the following year the band decided to take a "six-month" break, which would last more than 20 years!

In 2015 Nature of Wires reformed and joined forces with Californian vocalist CountessM. The next year they released Cyber Rendezvous on the Manchester-based AnalogueTrash label, which was the band’s first album since 1993’s Modus Operandi. In 2016 Nature of Wires’ intricate and dazzling live shows were enhanced by the addition of Tim Powell-Tuck on electronic drums, as they continued to tour around the UK, as well as appearing on BBC Introducing. In 2018 Sarah (Lady B) returned to the line-up, making her debut (or second coming) at Manchester’s iconic Ruby Lounge in November. Nature of Wires has appeared with many giants of the electronic scene, including Empathy Test, Aesthetic Perfection, Lord of the Lost and Leaether Strip and were part of the successful 2018 Ohm From Ohm Tour with The Frixion, Rodney Cromwell and Vieon. More shows are planned for 2019 & 2020, with sights set on festivals in the UK and mainland Europe.

Nature of Wires released "Reborn", a four-track EP which features Lady B on lead vocals, on the German Echozone label on April 26th 2019. The first single from the EP "Try" reached number 9 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC). The band also released Modus via AnalogueTrash on August 16th 2019, with Andrew on lead vocals. Modus is a "blast from the past" and includes 8 original songs written by Gary and Andrew between 1986 and 1993, plus amazing remix contributions from Atomzero, The Cowls, Eugene Somers (of Tiny Magnetic Pets), Room 1985, St Lucifer, Mesh, Leaether Strip, Klammer and Cyferdyne.

Looking ahead, Gary and Sarah are working on the next album, provisionally titled "Out of My System", with esteemed producer Mike Bennett, who has worked with The Fall, Toyah, Wishbone Ash, Fuzzbox and many more. Gary has also created NoW remixes for scores of international artists including Massive Ego, Leaether Strip, Sigue Sigue Sputnik Electronic, !distain, Precog, Advance, Freakangel, Machine Rox and Vogon Poetry.
