Building The Future Boston Breakers Development Academy

US Soccer Development Academy

The Academy Program focuses on positively impacting everyday club environments to assist in maximizing youth player development across the country. The Academy values individual development of elite players over winning trophies and titles. The Academy sets the standard for elite environments for youth soccer clubs nationwide and is a part of U.S. Soccer's global leadership position in youth soccer that will impact thousands of players.

Partnership

The Boston Breakers and New England Futbol Club have joined forces in a unique, long-term partnership to offer a comprehensive program for female soccer players.

Rebranding as Boston Breakers Academy this program was created with the United States Soccer Girls' Development Academy being the focus. The Boston Breakers Academy provides female players in New England with a platform to develop and professional environment that is built around the unique needs of the elite female soccer player. Academy teams will compete in U14, U15, U17, and U19 age groups

The Journey

So far the academy has welcomed its first group of players, met with academy director Miriam Hickey, and held a preseason camp with the NWSL Boston Breakers professional coaches and players

"We are trying to develop the next generation of players that will set the standard for the country. Creating an elite environment is the goal of the program"

-Nick Burke, Girls Director of Coaching

"As a club we will be expose our academy players to the resources we provide our professional players in terms of Sports Science and video analysis along with on and off field sessions with our pro team coaches and players. We believe the resources and staff involved in our academy program will separate us from many others across the country and lead us to being one of the top academy clubs in the U.S."

-Matt Beard, Head Coach NWSL Boston Breakers
