Reflective Learning is the Best Learning Created by: Taneal Carlson

I think we can all learn something if we work together to share our creations, and create with others. Connect with others and build networks of likeminded people to share knowledge with. Knowledge is meant to be shared. When I needed to reprogram my new watch I spend 20 minutes messing around with it finally I googled how to fix it and a 30 second YouTube video popped up. In less than a minute of online searching my watch was fixed. This was all possible because somebody took the time to share their knowledge with others. If you are good at something or have more knowledge in a certain area or you discovered something you should share these online for everybody else to view just like everybody else has done with you.

I think educators should support their students with digital tools and allow them time to practice and implement these tools within their daily learning because they may not get access to technology outside of the classroom. If they do receive access they may not have a more knowledgeable other there to help guide them in using the technology. It is so nice to have students and teachers helping and exploring together and sharing our ideas and findings. It is a supportive environment where we can further developing our skills. Technology can be used as a way of making our life more informed and convenient. It is a platform for networking. Technology knowledge is frequently becoming a required and expected skill in the job field. I want to best prepare my students for the work field and I think technology is one of the required places to start.

Students can do things with technology that they can't do on paper and pencil.

Students are excited about learning technology.

Students need to be prepared for society demands

Possible reasons not to support your students with digital tools. Their parents may be digital experts and the kiddos get all the guidance they need from their household. Another reason is you may not have the resources your classroom needs to access digital tools. I am trying to do a DonorsChoose donation to get a 2nd iPad in my classroom.

Students learn in multiple ways and show their understanding and interests in different ways. I want diverse learners to be able to access the resources they need. I allow my students to choose if they will be using technology, or creating a book to display their animal reports. They can do any final writing by recording the story on a movie making application, writing it on paper, or typing it on Word. This allows me to hit multiple learning styles and provides the students with choice.

Some times having this many choices can be difficult for students and it could be best for certain students to show them exactly who they will present their information or telling them exactly what application to use. Too many choices and access points may be over stimulating to some.

Expand your knowledge by sharing it with others. We learn by experimenting, asking questions, and relating things to our life.

Below are links to websites that I frequently use with my students. My students love accessing the websites.
