Group with others teaching the same grade for your divisions. Work in pairs or trios to make observations of the environment (however you choose to define that). Upload your pictures to the Google Doc when you come back to class.

Yes, it will be cold. You will have to be outside for up to 20 min as a time doing supervision in your school. You can take a short break to warm up in needed, but I want you outside for 40 minutes over the next hour, making meaningful observations. Get your mind in the zone.

Look at the observations and consider your curriculum. Develop guiding questions that you might ask your students to direct them towards your curricular Big Ideas. Don't stop at environmental questions... see if you can ask questions related to all aspects of science and technological education.
