As a result of participating in this activity, physicians and anesthetists should be able to:

• Describe and discuss the basic principles of ultrasound

• Identify normal sono-anatomy and aberrations

• Describe nerve block selection for specific surgeries

• Increase the ability to detect critical structures and improve patient safety while performing regional anesthesia

• Demonstrate needle insertion techniques for ultrasound guided nerve blocks, both in-plane and out-of-plane

• Improve block success rate and patient satisfaction

• Perform spinal/epidural imaging with ultrasound

Epidural & Spinal Ultrasound

Lower Extremity Nerve Blocks: 1) Femoral Nerve Block 2) Fascia Iliaca Block, 4) Saphenous/ Adductor Canal Block 5) Sciatic (Popliteal & Subgluteal) Block 6) Ankle Block

New Blocks: 1) Anterior Supraclavicular 2) Erector Spinae Plane Block 3) Serratus Anterior Plane Block 4) iPACK Block 5) Subserratus Plane Block 6) Rhomboid Intercostal 7) Retrolaminar Block

Live Scanning on 3 Standardized Patients and Up to 8 hours of Scanning

Techniques: In-plane and out-of- plane techniques and nerve catheter placement

Course can be rescheduled to a different day at least 4 weeks ahead of the scheduled course and a $500.00 rescheduling fee will be assessed to cover administrative costs.There are no refunds for no-shows; Substitutions are welcome without penalty.

Arun Kalava MD reserves the right to cancel this activity due to unforeseen circumstances, in which the full registration fee will be refunded. Arun Kalava MD, is not responsible for travel expenses incurred by the participants in the unlikely event that this activity is cancelled.
