Rachel Heatherly the Facets of my life

I grew up in "small-town usa": everyone knows one another, Friday night lights are a priority, prom is something to look forward, families gather on front porches, men drive trucks, the best food is your "mamaw's", and family-friends have an open-door policy.

I have lived at the same address for eighteen years (now my part time residence is Governors hall). I live with my best friends: my mother and older sister.
My small-town usa life during high school.
"There is no such thing as a 'self-made' man." -George Burton Adams. That is why I must acknowledge those who have given much of themselves so that I could become who I am becoming: to those who mentored me and have walked through life with me consistently, anything of notable quality about me is likely due in part to them!

Concerts are a special and treasured part of my life. One of the main reasons I've gone to 48 concerts: my older sister, Lauren.

A wall in my bedroom is covered in concert photos, and for good reason, they are some of my most precious memories.

Notable concerts: George Strait, the Jonas Brothers, Train, Andy Grammer, Hall & Oates, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Jimmy Buffett, Lecrae, Gavin Degraw, the Script, Huey Lewis & the News, Peter Frampton, the Doobie Brothers, Tim McGraw, Foreigner, Luke Bryan, Cole Swindell, the Peach Pickers, Dustin Lynch, Eric Church, Dwight Yoakum, Nick Jonas, Fleetwood Mac, Sam Hunt, Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes, Cole Swindell, Lee Brice, Randy Houser, Thomas Rhett, Florida-Georgia Line, Judah & the Lion, The Beach Boys, Kenny Chesney, America, Michael McDonald, Billy Currington, Shania Twain, Frankie Ballard, and the Fray

I have experienced so much creative joy in the past year and half by sharing my thoughts and experiences on my blog!

These blogs, The Small Things Blog and AujPoj, have been influential in my life and inspired me to begin a blog.

So where do all of these "facets of life" align and what do they mean for the future I am seeking?

With a passion for written word, eighteen years of experience in a small-town, academic interests, a capacity to learn from mentors, and a love of concerts and music my desire is to pursue a career as a publicist writing for a record label or an individual artist(s).

My preference would be to move to Nashville and immerse myself in Music City's county music scene. Country music has been the background track of my life. I want to contribute to the industry that has shaped my own life. Music (songs, concerts and artists) shapes our lives because it is written by people- for people. And I do not want to miss out on being a part of the furtherance of that precious "facet" of life.
