How Chemical Reactions Affect Us By Jason Brain

Without chemical reactions we couldn't live. When we eat food chemical reactions happen to break down the food so our bodies can use it as energy.

We also couldn't drive. Combustion is a chemical reaction, that's why they are called combustion engines.

Things wouldn't oxidize if chemical reactions didn't happen. That would mean the Statue of Liberty would still be copper colored and not green. But we couldn't make it because we can't live without chemical reactions.
