Identification of Topic
The topic i choose for my witness activity is beginning.
Explanation of My Activity
MY witness activity is an "icebreaker" activity you can Use at the beginning of a retreat. First off, the Students should get into small groups of 5 to 6. These groups should be assigned and not chosen because it should be with new people thEy are not familiar with. After choosing these groups, have each student introduce themselves to their peers by saying their name and one fact about themselves. Give them a hint and tell them to make sure they listen to the names carefully! After they have finished introducing everyone give Each group a small, bouncy ball. One peRson will have the baLl and throw it at another student in the group. When they throw it at that student they must say the student's name. Then, that student will throw it at anOther student and say their name. The game wilL continue like this REPEATEDLY until everone has had a chance wiTh the ball.
Reference to Scripture and Theme
"For I know well the plans I have in mind for you—oracle of the Lord—plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope" (Jeremiah 29:11).
This bible verse relates to my theme of "beginning" becausE god is saying that he has Plans in mind for us. These plans are not for evil or sorrow. Rather, these plans are for health and happiness. God Is trying to explain to us that along with each plan comes a new beginning. Each person has a unique plan from god waiting for them.
Reference to YouCat and Theme
THe youcat reference i Choose is In chapter 3, section 20.
"To RESPOND to god means tO believe him"
This youcat reference relates to my topic of "beginning" because it talks about believeing in god and having a relationship with him. As catholics, we must believe that god has a "beginning" or plan for us. Even during the difficult times god will always be by our side.
Purpose of My Activity
THE purpose of my ACTIVITY is to ALLOW THE STUDENTS TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER BETTER AND get on a first NAME basis. HOPEFULLY, the students will CREATE NEW FRIENDSHIPS, MEMORIES, AND "BEGINNINGS" WITH One another.
