This year was a big one.

Rooted in the Lower East Side for 103 years, Grand St. Settlement is a trusted community partner in neighborhoods across Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. Grand St. Settlement provides a wide range of services that support family stability and bolster growth in all stages of life, including early childhood education, after school education and summer camp, college prep, senior services, and the GrandLo Café social enterprise job training program. Our programs help low-income New Yorkers step out of poverty and into opportunity. After implementing our 3 year strategic plan, we enhanced programs and deepened our partnerships. We've seen historic growth, and are now positioned to help change the lives of more New Yorkers than ever.

We are from the communities we serve. We are constantly enriching ourselves in order to serve our community at the highest capacity. Because of this effort, we were recognized by Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York (now known as Nonprofit New York).

Grand St. Settlement remains fiscally strong. We have achieved a surplus for the third year in a row. We have had consecutive, clean audits with no material weaknesses and no internal control deficiencies. Our operating budget has doubled in 5 years from $15 million in FY2016 to $30 million in FY2020.

The following board approved financial statements cover the fiscal year from July 1st 2018 - June 30th 2019 and demonstrate a $26 million operating budget.

This year the Grand Street family lost two valued members. Former board members Margaret "Peggy" Heller and William "Bill" Potter passed away this year. Peggy was a fierce supporter of Grand Street and is known for her philanthropy to multiple organizations. Bill served on Grand St. Settlement's board of directors for 49 years and was instrumental to our organization's success. We miss them both and thank them for their constant advocacy throughout their lives.
