Sophomore survival guide for Comp Day By: Haley Grooms

Everyone came to school as a sophomore at one point.

Nobody ever said it was easy being the youngest among practically adults.

Comp Day. The dreaded day for all sophomores in their first year of high school. The day where different grade levels compete in challenging events for school dominance.

The seniors and juniors, however, have had a tradition of scaring away the sophomores in the past. This includes: throwing feathers, tagging (hitting with paint,) spitting, and seniors running the halls.

Here is some needed advice for sophomores seeking it:

"Stay out of the way and wear your color; It's a must!!!"- senior, Shannon Rumble

"Show some school spirit"- junior, Olivia Kurek

"Wear your color and don't sit under seniors"- junior, Megan Walker

"Get to your class as soon as possible"- junior dominik liskey

"Don't expect to win and don't sass the seniors"- junior Brenden Swick

"You can hide in classrooms because we do yell and intimidate them with the plexi-glass"- senior, Taylor McAllister

"Mind your own business and expect to be pushed around"- junior, Jack Shepherd

Comp day is meant to be fun AND competitive. When sophomores get the annual "go home sophomores" chant, just know that it's only in competitive spirit.

Have fun and may the best grade win.
