The Golden Gate Bridge And how to prevent from rUsting

How Rust Occurs

Rust occurs when Oxygen (O) and Iron (FE) reacts with water (H2O) and produces Iron oxide (rust).

Ways to Prevent Rust

  • To keep the water, Iron and Oxygen apart; that's what paint does, or the spray-on wax and oil coatings.

What method I'm going to be using to Prevent Rust

The best method (in my opinion) is to separate the three elements (Iron, water and oxygen) by painting over it. Although this is dangerous and may be expensive, it's very environmentally.
